The Foundation for the Art of Gold- and Silversmithery again hosts the Gmünder Trade Fair in Leutze Hall at the Congress Center. Along with goldsmiths, silversmiths and jewelry designers, the fair also features renowned craftspeople from other disciplines, e.g. wood designerUlrike Scriba, who is well known for her unique intarsia artworks, and the Cornelius Réer glass workshop from Nuremberg.
Also represented at 126 – Gold & Silver is the Hermann Bauer manufactory, which upholds Schwäbisch Gmünd’s grand tradition of silver. Most of the exhibitors are individual goldsmith’s workshops showing unique or limited-series objects ranging from “the unusual and imaginative to the elegant and sophisticated.” Also participating: the Precious Metal Association of Schwäbisch Gmünd and the specialized academy and vocational school for design, jewelry and utensils. The organizers promise “a delightful trade fair for trend-conscious insiders in the industry, gallery owners and interested visitors.” To further enhance the pleasure of a visit, a selection of international wines are available at the fair’s bar.
