Sprouts, buds and rippled shapes – Axel Salto is one of the most acclaimed Danish artists of the 20th century. He broke down the boundaries of ceramics, transforming pottery into true art. During the December auction Bruun Rasmussen offered a wide range of Salto’s sublime stoneware, which both in terms of quality, size, rarity and glaze represent some of his major works. From 16 lots available 14 were sold, his organic artwork still has an appealing character for many enthusiasts world-wide today.
