MK&G Messe Hamburg 2024

Applications from April 1 to 30, 2024.

From 27 November to 1 December 2024, the MK&G messe will present contemporary arts and crafts in all their diversity, including young and renowned positions, international trends and fresh perspectives from many creative disciplines such as ceramics, glass art and jewellery design. As an international forum, the MK&G messe offers crafted objects of high quality for a broad audience.

The Justus Brinckmann Prize 2023 went to Veronika Beckh. Her group of works intingo (Latin for “I dip”) expresses the flowing quality of glass and immersion in the glowing molten glass.

The MK&G messe also promotes young artists: in the “Young Talents” category, five young and promising artisans are invited to Hamburg to show their work for the first time. A design accent is set by the trade fair architecture specially conceived for the spaces.

The MK&G messe will be accompanied by a solo exhibition by the Norwegian textile designer Hanne Friis in the Contemporary Craft exhibition series. Hear the work Consolation, 2022. Photo Oystein Thorvaldsen, © Hanne Friis.

The opening of the fair and the presentation of the Justus Brinckmann Prize and the Justus Brinckmann Förderpreis will take place on Tuesday, 26 November 2024 at 6 pm.
