Ulrike Ramin

Copenhagen fits quite well, says Ulrike Ramin about the metropolis in which she works and lives. Although the clear lines of Danish design can be found in her pieces of jewelry, references to Japan are also present in the shapes, which are soothingly imperfect: for example, the beads and wire in the graceful ring are not perfectly round. “The eye perceives liveliness and naturalness where one wouldn’t expect to find them,” Ulrike Ramin explains. She allows the process to lead her, enters into dialogue with the material, observes, plays and lets go. “The most beautiful part of my work is to create jewelry that comes to the people and takes effect there.”
