Leen Heyne

The pre-eminent feature of Leen Heyne’s pieces is their striking elegance and clarity. Many of his rings and bangles are created from nothing more than a single gold or silver band featuring one or more twists. The flowing, dynamic progression of these twists and the silky matte sheen of the metal remind one of the gentle drape and texture of real silk. What looks so natural, however, is the result of painstaking work and exquisite handcraftsmanship. Leen Heyne hammers, folds, draws down and bends the precious metal for as long as necessary for it to take on the desired shape. Since 2009, Heyne has been working as a freelance jewelry designer in Tilburg, north-west of Eindhoven. His pieces are exhibited in various leading galleries in the Netherlands.
