Waves on the water, branches of trees or flight formations of birds are examples of structures in nature that follow a fascinating shape. “Humans have developed an intuitive feeling for these rules of nature,” say Antonia Frey-Vorhammer and Simon Vorhammer. The two designers are already successful with their jewelry label Sian. Now they are taking up such natural phenomena with their Formfeld project. They first calculate the structures with their own specially developed computer algorithms. Each form field is then precisely manufactured using CNC technology and finished by hand. The mathematically defined form fields optimize the acoustics by scattering and absorbing sound at the same time. Each molded panel is a custom-made product that enriches rooms both visually and acoustically.
