Fingerglück

Under her Fingerglück [Fingers in Bliss] label, Iris Merkle creates individually designed rings, in particular wedding rings, because the latter “play a very special role in our lives as lifelong companions and visible signs of the bond between two people.” In her collection, she has reified a wide variety of ideas for creating very personal and highly individual symbols of love. Her new series of rings entitled Birke [Birch], for example, has been crafted on the basis of birch bark or twigs and captivates us with the rings’ appealingly organic appearance. In addition, the birch is also a wonderful symbol of love. It provides space on its trunk for messages and was once dedicated to Freya, the goddess of love and matrimony. Photo Ramona Reckziegel.
