The fascinating interplay of clay and fire creates unique, nature-inspired structures that are reminiscent of living landscapes and embody the wabi-sabi aesthetic. As part of the “Keshiki – Traces of Fire exhibition,” Kintei Sense presents timeless masterpieces of Japanese ceramic art at L’Atelier de Valérie in Munich.

The Kintei Sense Gallery was born out of a fascination for Japanese arts and crafts and the strong will to make the quintessence of these accessible in Europe. The founder, Caroline Hayashi, was born in France, grew up in Vienna, developed professionally in Japan and is married to a Canadian of Japanese descent. She now lives in Munich.
Accompanying workshops offer deep insights into the world of Japanese ceramics and shed light on their connection to sustainability and appreciation as well as the close relationship to the tradition of the tea ceremony and sake culture.
