The purchase of designer objects isn’t only for wealthy people. Good design can also be found far afield from chic galleries and venerable auction houses—and often at affordable prices, just as Wilhelm Wagenfeld would have wished. One such venue is design classic düsseldorf, which is now running for the 17th time and is a mixture of a market and a fair. Visitors from all walks of life can enjoy a casual atmosphere there and browse among stands offering vintage beauties.
Around 150 design classics dealers cover all categories at design classic düsseldorf: again there is much fine furniture design to be discovered, but also furnishings, classics of glass, ceramics, porcelain and metal find their place on the generous 4000 qm. The diverse furnishings offer is complemented by jewelry classics, vintage fashion and accessories. In addition, there are 4 booksellers who come up with appropriate, even antiquarian, literature on design and architecture. Appealing pieces can be bought and taken home without delay, often “as is” (i.e. not restored), because the traces of time have a charm all their own.
