Dorothee Wenz
In the world of Dorothee Wenz, on the one hand, there are fine-toned, colorfully opulent vessels, on the other hand earthy hybrid beings that reflect human characters and inner attitudes. Both are part of a great desire for expression, imagination and design. The large vessels are not thrown on the wheel, but build up by hand of differently colored clay. After firing and an elaborate grinding process, the surfaces surprise with their velvety softness and smoothness. The hybrid beings develop their characters during the creative process of making. Most impressively are the characters of hare, donkey, sheep or fish emerge in dialogue with their partners.
