Sophia Epp
Sophia Epp has a talent for creating pieces of jewelry with eminently expressive, ornamental effects based on plain geometrical shapes and sensitively combined materials. Her Lilly earrings, for example, crafted from 900 gold and blackened silver, dazzle the viewer with the vivid dynamism emanating from their intersecting lines. Other pieces such as her Soap Bubbles or Circles necklaces are convincing examples of graphical clarity that nevertheless exudes a playful and cheerful vibe. “My goal is to translate things I saw, felt and experienced into wearable and exquisitely crafted jewelry,” explains this master silversmith and jewelry designer who has already been honored with several prizes. After years of training and having gained experience by collaborating with prominent goldsmiths such as Hermann Jünger and Erico Nagai, Sophia Epp today dedicates her time exclusively to making her own jewelry which is represented by a number of renowned international galleries.
