Christiane Iken creates airy, three-dimensional miniature constructions that play with light and shadow. The repetition of structures and typologies, the tension between positive and negative, between mass and transparency play an important role for her. Her prowess has been underlined by numerous prizes and awards such as the red dot, awarded by the Design Center of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Innovation Award presented by Munich’s inhorgenta europe show and the German Jewelry and Gemstone Prize of Idar-Oberstein. To complement the spectrum of her own work in her gallery, Christiane Iken carefully selects pieces of matching quality created by leading contemporary jewelry designers.
