The ring as a sculpture, characterized by minimalism in terms of form yet created in a surprisingly diversified range of expressive variants. Angela Hübel’s untiring creativity leads her to create a wide variety of rings, many adorned with pearls or gemstones, but also plain and simple specimens featuring the warm gleam of matte gold. She decided to serially manufacture her pieces because “it would be a shame to implement a good design only once.” Her first between-fingers ring, which she called to life while creatively playing with spherical parts, became the basis for other models for two fingers. Her current collection includes many pieces sculpted as open “rings” featuring the Navette shape, archs or circles. Her prize-winning works can also be admired in public collections, for example in Munich’s City Museum, the Museums of Applied Arts in Hamburg, Berlin and Cologne, and the Pinakothek der Moderne modern art museum in Munich.
