Brigitte Adolph / Jewelry

Brigitte Adolph

1975 Born in Fulda, Germany
1999–2005 Studied jewelry design in Copenhagen and Pforzheim
2005 Founded her own atelier in Karlsruhe

Brigitte Adolph’s elaborately crafted pieces look like delicate lace. What seems to be finespun fabric, however, turns out to be pure precious metal. This graduate designer likes to play with optical illusions. Although inspired by the past, her rings, brooches, pendants and earrings are nevertheless characterized by an authentic, contemporary formal idiom. In 2007 Brigitte Adolph was honored with the coveted red dot Award for her Loop pearl necklace. Instead of using the pearl cord merely as an invisible support, she has elevated it into the status of an independent design element by using it for ornamental stitches without forsaking its function. The Loop series was also nominated for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2008.
