Gellner

1967 Foundation of the company by Heinz Gellner
1968 Birth of Jörg Gellner
1997 Jörg Gellner takes over as Managing Director and starts developing the brand

In 1994 Gellner started intensifying its design activities, also including modern pearl jewelry created by renowned designers. Avant-garde designs were created for the competitions Gellner organized in collaboration with the Design Departments of the Düsseldorf and Pforzheim Universities. In 2001 Gellner presented its Y-shaped necklace. In 2003 Monika Seitter, a jewelry designer from Düsseldorf, combined Tahitian pearls and colored plastic for Gellner. This unusual material mix and the vivid colors represented a breach with tradition. The designs created by Dickson Yewn, a Chinese designer, succeeded in bridging the gap between two cultures. In 2006 Gellner started collaborating with Angela Hübel, and in 2007 with Egon Frank. The Snapper jewelry set designed by Corinna Heller features large cultured Tahitian or South Sea pearls that remind us of precious fruit.
