Special exhibitions at the Eunique 2018

The Eunique, which takes place in the Messe Karlsruhe from 8 to 10 June, is dedicated to a special show of a country’s design scene every year. This year, a wide range of British designs will be shown under the title “Design Nation: Head, Hand & Heart – celebrating British craft and design”. The title of this year’s special show is inspired by a quotation from John Ruskin: “Fine art is that in which the hand, the head, and the heart of one go together.” Designers from Karlsruhe’s sister city Nottingham also participate in the special show.

As part of the Twin Towns Creative Twinning project, there has been lively exchange and visits by designers in Nottingham and Karlsruhe. A part of the special show “Design Nation Special: designers from Karlsruhe’s twin city of Nottingham” builds on this exchange. Karlsruhe’s city will also be home to British design during the Eunique. From May 26 to June 9, the second designweek in Karlsruhe will present creative design ideas as solo shows in more than 30 owner-managed stores in the city.

Special Show Just Plastics … new uses

Every year, the trade fair for for unique design objects is presenting a material of craftsmanship. In 2018, plastic is the focus. Under the title “Just Plastics … new uses”, the special show is going to demonstrate which design possibilities plastic offers. “The exhibitors show objects that play with the tension between free art and everyday objects and fascinate by their uniqueness – from finely crafted jewelry via individually tailored fashion to lovingly designed furniture and home accessories”, the fair says.

Art Aurea Forum – Masterpieces of Applied Arts

For the 10th anniversary of the Eunique the Art Aurea Forum will be presenting masterpieces of Applied Art by 15 selected artists and designers in a special show. The participants represent the broad spectrum of the Art Aurea Internet platform in the areas of interior, vessel and object as well as jewelry and textiles. On display are top-class artistic pieces as well as excellent design series from authentic workshops. All participants have been awarded numerous international prizes. Their works are not only highly authentic, but often have influenced a special style.

Eunique Fair together with Loft – The Design Store

At the anniversary edition of the Eunique fair, the designers and artists present contemporary jewelry, individual fashion, furniture, lamps, vessels and accessories. At the same time the “Loft – The Design Store” takes place in the Karlsruhe fair. Young and established designers, labels, newcomers and universities present new products in the fields of furniture, home accessories, fashion and jewelery for a design-conscious audience. Admission is valid for both fairs.
